Hawaii interest
Dear Rabbi Jonathan Ginsburg, My husband and I are so very grateful to be able to enjoy your many videos on YouTube. As new followers of the Jewish faith, we have very few resources here in Hilo, Hawaii. My husband is of Jewish descent but his family converted to Christianity during the war and I was raised Catholic. However, the only truth we have ever known was in Judaism. We dearly wish to officially convert someday through your conversion program. Unfortunately, we're both students and we also have a son, so doing so anytime soon is out of the question due to finances (we're both pursuing degrees in nursing and it is barely affordable). We have been actively observing Shabbat and all other holidays, studying the Torah, and reading many books on the subject, but no synagogues exist on this island, nor do services (except sometimes the high holidays). We were also recently invited to a Shabbat dinner with a Jewish family we met at our university, so we are looking forward to that. However, your videos are very very valuable to us, since Judaism is such a sacred truth in our lives. You have a great way of explaining things and helping us understand the truths and importance of so many fundamental elements of Judaism that we could not get from books alone. Thank you ever so much, we will continue to watch your videos until we graduate and are able to finally convert with you (don't go anywhere for a couple of years, please!).
